@rbreich@masto.ai to paraphrase Xkcd: The first rule of circular reasoning club is the first rule of circular reasoning club.

@h5e@tech.lgbt I have a slightly more nuanced take: 99% of the time what people want is the stuff implemented by markdown. That is, bold stays bold, italic stays italic, bullets stay bullets, but font size and styling goes away. That's the real problem - if I copy text in 30 pt Comic Sans, I don't want that. But if I copy a list of bullet points, I want them to stay bullet points. Also, when I do copy with style/format, it should reproduce perfectly. But html is a trash language. So we get mangled.

@timbray@mastodon.cloud I found this article on Hacker News... and then it immediately got taken down because HN firmly believes that neutrality in the face of injustice is not only acceptable, but is a moral imperative.

@noahshachtman@mstdn.social no surprise. A fun game online is, when you see a pro-Hamas bad take search for their username and "Ukraine" on the same platform -- finding the worst pro-Russia nonsense is a pretty safe bet.

@liza@post.lurk.org I'm in this toot and I don't like it
