with the help of claude, I put together an NVDA Addon for enhancing the audio ducking with two new modes.
Duck inactive applications lowers the audio of every application that is not currently focused, so the app you are working in stays at full volume.
Duck the active application lowers the audio of the application that is currently focused, leaving background audio (for example, music) at full volume.
As focus moves between applications, the add-on continually updates which audio sessions are lowered, and it restores every application's original volume when you leave the mode or disable ducking. NVDA's own speech and sounds are never lowered.

I put together a browser extention for browsing reddit more conveniently. it formats comment threads into headdings with propper atribution so it's easier for a screen reader user to follow a thread. full disclosure, it was coded by gemini 3.1 and codex.

we're in the times where one is scared of the upgrades.

@lexipic@dragonscave.space initially the app looked interesting, but the unmoderated nature of it bothered me quite a bit. you can't simply drop a platform, connect users and volunteers with it and call it a day. if there was no need of sensitizing the volunteers, then we wouldn't need to call anyone in the first place, we could simply ask for help from people around us.
I can totally navigate the space by myself buut I would rather not do it because I don't want anyone to watch how I do it. awkward tendencies can be very restrictive.
now you can generate native android applications on google AI studio. there may be things which I may have overlooked as a non-developer, but overall it's very promissing. lets see how far we can stretch it.
It's refreshing to see that the windows client of Apple music has a more native feel. whether it is good or bad I am yet to see.
I just realized, it takes aproximetly 15 to 20 minutes with a couple dozings to get you interested in something tricky you are obligated to read or learn.

@Aryan@dragonscave.space @mckensie@tweesecake.social @Aman@dragonscave.space brother we've been there. there's no point wasting your energy on those self serving systems. just keep your head down and work on your things. what you do will be beyond their understanding anyways.

@TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space thank you for the update. it is not loading the whole book in the xml format. only the initial content up to table of contents. this happens with each book.
