I just emerged from a personal rabbit hole: in playing with asterisk and SIP devices again I dug up a Cisco ata 186 and wondered about the settings, especially the settings that make it sound "American". So several searches later I ended up in the "Recommended Cisco ATA Tone Parameter Values by Country" document.
Keeping links to where I found documents and keeping local backups because the devices are out of support.

Trying some 6m contacts. Almost all countries are new on this band for me. Interesting distances possible when it is open!

@vk6flab@mastodon.radio my best guess: both use 433.920 MHz, and the sensors on the cranes may have a too active duty cycle.
But the article leaves out all those pesky technical details. If the regulatory details are compatible with the ones we have here it would be 'accept interference in ISM applications, even if it prohibits your device from receiving wanted signals'. But that's also left out of the article.

@jonty@chaos.social @emf@social.emfcamp.org from what I have seen from emfcamp this doesn't surprise me a lot.
Does the channel have Ceefax service? Or is that a nerdsnipe for the next edition...
