Tippy top journalism looking at human inability to accurately predict/assess danger, but also human ability to respond valiantly after same failure. (Possible attraction to subject by author given his last name?). He also covers history of economic development of bitumen in Alberta (spoiler alert - not economic), boreal forest fire cycle, and how fires grow/move, etc. Anyway - enjoyed this post in light of being in the middle of this book.
