@ZLabe Take care! In 2021 we had a heat dome in BC. Over 600 people died. One entire town burned down. Temps over 40. My condo baked. Top floor, no shade. Portable a/c kept one room below 30. Children played in the parking garage under our building and I saw the future: One day we will sleep down here for weeks at a time; we'll put tents in our parking spaces. I moved last year. New condo is on the main floor, north facing, lots of trees. Large parking garage. 🙏

@mcnado Yes. Because it feels good to hear Iranian people cheering from apartment buildings and see them celebrating in the streets BUT the US taking unilateral action against the leader of a sovereign nation is not going to end well. It cannot be up to one nation to decide who is good an evil... I wonder why they didn't just fund a revolution/coup like they usually do - much more subtle and subject to less scrutiny and outrage.

If a CEO's decisions cost a company billions of dollars, they are fired by their board.
That our governance systems don't have similar mechanisms to protect the city/county/country/planet is imho, one of humanity's greatest oversights.

@pheonix@hachyderm.io Being here without the algo I am really noticing how much I struggle against the flattening. It is sweet peace here without it constantly cornering and pigeon holing me. Well said.

@david_kehm@theforkiverse.com I can't think of any others off the top of my head but many years ago I realized when I have to buckle down to accomplish something hard I visualize my tasks this way to motivate myself. Maybe that's one of the reasons us gen xers are known for getting stuff done. 😊

I think if global politics were a Stephen King novel, then this "Queen of Canada" Romana Didulo subplot would eventually play a key antagonistic role in the climax of the story. 🤡
