Sat May 16 Albina Library 12pm-5pm - It's WEB DAY! #pdx
Now under "Computers Like #Portland" aka "clipdx" - budding effort to make more inclusive, creative tech events - https://clipdx.com/webday/
This time we're on a scavenger hunt for Community Events & Calendars. Like our successful RSS adventure last time, the results will be visible in a forthcoming page on clipdx.com.
We will also play a bunch of games and click a bunch of links, it can't all be work. Join us! Put it on *your* calendar!

Web Day is Saturday April 18th 12-5pm reeds.website/2026/webday
All about RSS! Wish you could have a dedicated place for all those newsletters in your email inbox? Got an RSS reader yet? Want your very own RSS feed for your blog? We'll help you get set up!
RSS LIBERATES YOU.
But what do #pdx and RSS have in common? A LOT! Try this. Download an RSS app on your phone. Go to @portlandmercury@pdx.social's website. "Share" the link to your RSS app, and click Add Feed. Never miss a local story or event!

@asci@indieweb.social @elk@m.webtoo.ls Ah I see, yes those would all be better options than my idea of manually using the "Share" button. Thank you for the brainstorm!

@asci@indieweb.social Really cool! I wonder if you could go the other way. Make this a PWA so I can "Share" any URL I find in the wild to it, and then it gives me a button to open this in my home instance? I don't know if that's possible, but I'd find that incredibly useful.

@asci@indieweb.social I was thinking simpler. I see links to other instances posted all the time. I want to open them on my home instance (or other instance of my choosing) immediately. Maybe there's a right way to do this, but everytime I click one of these links, it opens in their instance where I'm not logged in
