mine too. they seemed to have the parenting philosophy that if they just beat me enough, and withheld enough love, I would magically become a sweet and good child who didn't need to be beaten and who deserved love. my brother committed suicide before he finished high school. somehow I turned out ok but there was no fucking way I was rolling the dice with having kids.

Failed Scots-Irish farmers began coming through the 1850s, which is about when the Germans began coming in numbers. They still speak German in some places in the Hill Country. Of course a lot of them settled in Mexico too, giving rise to Mexican beer. German and Czech immigrants brought their meat preservation techniques which is why Texas barbecue is so badass.

the whole thing? ok. for all I know AI will format it for you. there are some conventions to observe to make it e-reader-friendly involving all the marks that one usually hides like spaces and grafs and tab marks etc. even if you're having Vellum do it for you, it's better to have properly formatted it beforehand.

I do not know what the hell is wrong with this little asshole, he came from a neglect/abuse situation but he knows perfectly damn well how to hold his pee. I'm home all the time, I only leave the house once or twice a week for brief errands. he gets plenty of chances to pee on things outside but he's taken to doing it inside. he even pees in his crate. so, diapers from here on out.

first thing this morning terriernigger does this, but with a snek on the back porch
so before coffee I get my handy snek-grabber to remove the menace. how, as a wamman, I hate sneks. fuck all sneks. this shitty little specimen might have been a water moccasin or it might have been a plain-bellied water snek. it sprayed skunky musk all over the porch and wrapped its body around anything it could grab to thwart its removal. didn't get a picture because no coffee yet and all I could think was to get this snek outta here. I flung it into the woods toward the creek.

I'm glad the little idiot dog had the sense not to try to seize the snek. or maybe he did, I heard him barking obsessively after I let him out but I wasn't watching. this is the second snek I've seen up close to the house in as many weeks. I don't worry about little ones, but the big ones steal eggs and can kill small chiggens. if it had been in the coop, well, that's a death sentence. I may kill the next one regardless. sneks are surprisingly tough in the fiber, you have to saw away to behead them. at least, if you're a middle-aged wamman working alone and trying to not get bitten in the process. beheading things is not my favorite thing to do.

all I had was blue masa and blue cornmeal for some reason but it’s incredibly flavorful. it looks kind of purple-gray in its final form. I added extra milk to counteract how absorbent heritage grains are. It is perfect.

most of Texas has been having drought through the fall and winter and in March we had temps up to 100°F almost every day with no rain. that is very much not usual. then, in April, it became cool and wet. I don't know what it is exactly that's sending water sneks all the way up the hill from the creek, a distance of hundreds of yards. some years I see no sneks directly. this area in general is known to be full of every kind of snek.

If anyone out there is curious about Orthodoxy, besides attending Liturgy and other prayer services I recommend reading this work of fiction. It is soaked through with the Orthodox phronema in a way that no other fiction I've read is. By contrast Dostoyevsky seems quite secular.
