This is a pretty good retrospective of the Ennis House from 2006, when critically needed repairs to save it had begun.
House had problems from the start.
I have mixed feelings about the millions of dollars that have been spent; objectively that kind of money could do so much more good if spent helping human beings
My aesthetic lizard brain that remembers going into the cave-like foyer and then up the stairs into the living room, though, is glad that the space still exists

So yeah, The House on Haunted Hill is oddly important to me because seeing it as a kid kicked off a chain of events that led to me being a docent there, which led to me designing and building the first web site for the house in 1998, which was a portfolio piece that got me better work and arguably remains the most successful web thing I ever built in terms of combined usefulness and design
