@flexghost@mastodon.social From my time Neil Peart was so astonishing as a drummer that he and Rush put Canada on the map for contemporary music. Youtubers that focus on music of any genre listen to "Tom Sawyer" because the drumming was so ahead of its time. He also wrote the lyrics for their songs. @thegaffer@hobbitwhispers.social @flexghost@mastodon.social He was really good and I learned a lot from his lyrics. I'm perhaps not as libertarian as he seemed to be but for a time in the 1980s it seemed as if there was a rock band out there making music specifically for me personally.
