Ian Smith
Decent British guy, PhD chemist, retired professional scientist, published hobby writer (mostly erotica), keen photographer.
Co-carer of a delightful dog and two beautiful horses. Pro-humanity, pro-rationalism, agnostic.
Very broad-minded, supportive of other's choices, tastes, hopes and dreams.
Sure we learn more by being open to new things.
Unenthusiastic about all forms of political stupidity and extremism.
Despair of humanity growing up in time to save ourselves.

The cafe overlooking this is called Life's A Beach.
Bude, Cornwall.
Had one of those "Ah, I'm retired," moments this morning.
I'd just watered everything on our allotments which needed a drink, then sat, ate my mid-morning sneaky treat (a freshly baked Cornish pasty) and just chilled for a few minutes.
Bliss or what?
Some really useful help from someone in my critiquing group yesterday, and it helped me get my short story to flow a bit better.
The August picture from my personal 2026 photo calendar. It's an early 20th century medicine cabinet in Lanhydrock, a historic house in SW England. Newer versions of a few of these items might still be found in homes today.
