This is surely a great example of how political cowardice can lead to total absurdity.
Perhaps Canada should hold a referendum on whether any referendum held by #Alberta should be taken seriously. At this point, the provincial government is twisting so much in the wind it's hard to see how any result would be credible.
Saw her Flight Pattern at the National Ballet of Canada this year and was totally impressed!

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/judge-quashes-decision-to-approve-separation-petition-9.7198553. Oh dear, the whinies out of Alberta are going to be loud, long, and bursting with self-pity. It will speak volumes if Smith lashes out at the judicial system in response. The rest of us should probably avoid overt displays of #Schadenfreude #CanPol #AlbertaSeparatism
"Quite why the US has failed repeatedly to understand war is one of the greatest questions/problems we face. Instinctively I believe that fighting a war is too easy for the US, but that means the US has lost the ability to distinguish between fighting and winning. At the same time, the US with its massive military machine, huge IC and inflated think-tank community, has confused being big with being smart..."
"...as Trump's promised peace deal remains elusive"
I can't believe that mainstream media is still writing such gormless, naive headlines. We all know #Trump promises are worthless and his statements are more often than not fantasies or deliberate lies. Query: Can something that doesn't exist be "elusive"?

“It is time for this government to stop taking advantage of the dedication and commitment these workers have to their communities,” added Hornick. “When you stole from these workers, you were also cheating the communities who depend on the care they provide.”
One of our sons has a developmental disability so we have experience with the sector. The reluctance of governments to fund it properly has long been a painful and obvious reality.
#UnitedKingdom #Labour In my experience, when a government claims that its problem is that it hasn't communicated "all the good things we're doing," then it's toast.

He's right up there with #USA ambassador Hoekstra in the "I don' need no stinkin' credibility" department.

RE: @newsguyusa@flipboard.social
While that seems nice, I think the USA's problem is that one third of its voters still think Trump is swell and everything's hunky- dory. Given the unprincipled spinelessness of most American politicians, I don't see how you overcome that substantial minority.
