Lots of people telling me I'm stupid to think they will not be able to vote with their state issued ID if the SAVE Act passes in its current form.
I ask them, "Where on your ID does it say you are a U.S. citizen cause that's what it has to say for you to be able to register with just your ID." And the same boneheads don't believe they will have to update their voter registration.
At this rate, we're going to have three people show up who are correctly registered.

I never understood why we gave up crystal clear audio, a two way simultaneous connection (yes, both parties could talk at the same time and hear wha5 the other had to say), and phone books for unintelligible garbled speak, dropped calls, delays, and no way to look up the damn phone number.

History also shows those in power inevitably describe them as smaller than they were, delusional, and ineffective.

They all seem to be of the opinion how they provide "leadership" doesn't matter. I don't expect any of them to consistently vote the way I want them to, but it would be great if at least one of them provided some leadership and put out a plan to help all of their constituents. I'm old enough to remember when it wasn't like this.

The problem is if I call a Democratic party politician and they see I am a registered Republican, my feedback will be immediately discounted. I believe the only people politicians listen to are those registers in their own party or Independents (who these days, more often than not, they need to win).

@futurebird@sauropods.win As part of that change, I am giving serious consideration to changing my voter affiliation to Independent. I am watching the Democratic party on all levels fighting over nonsense and providing no leadership. If I call a Republican Rep, I am ignored. As far as I can tell, there is no fix.
Changing to Independent will afford me the opportunity to contact elected officials and candidates in an effort to influence which issues they address and how as they work to obtain swing votes.
There are wayyyyyyyy to many people out there who believe they are going to waltz into their polling place with their state issued ID and be allowed to vote.

@pabloniusmonk Other. We have access to two that provide over 500mbps: xfinity and kinetic. Anything less and ads make it impossible to use. We use xfinity because kinetic has been notoriously unreliable locally.

It occurs to me, it should have a long time ago because people have been shouting it from the rooftops but I wasn't listening, while we fight over dem vs rep because that's what political voice boxes encourage us to do, the majority of them are stealing our money and labor and actively working to subjugate us in one way or another.
I'm not quite sure why I woke up having internalized this, but I did and it's burning white hot in my soul.
