I feel like in general it's difficult for people to understand the following, and especially given my Trinidadian background, but let me remind both you and me. Abuse is abuse. Verbal abuse is abuse. Mental abuse is abuse. Emotional abuse is abuse. You don't need to be smacked up and down with a 2 by 4 to be considered abused. If someone makes you feel like shit, that's not necessarily because of your shortcomings or because you're a failure. And, if you feel bad about how someone addressed you, those feelings are valid and doesn't make you weak or lesser. And finally, abuse isn't minimised just because your parents executed their duty to raise and care for you. They made the choice to bring you forth into the world. They can't feel bad about it and take out their envy on their friends who either didn't have children or were neglectful on you, nor should they take out their frustrations based on their poor choice in mating partners on you. And if they bring up said care and child raring every time a discussion or disagreement breaks out, you're not the problem.

Yeah this is what false outrage causes. You get lots and lots of people who wouldn't have otherwise heard about the thing to do so, and invest because look at us we're owning the libs.

Usually I gawk at these more lefty takes about AI, but this one seems to be true. Ironically, the people pushing this rhetoric isn't the big tech bros. It's the shills who prostitute themselves for AI who does. In fact, they seem to have this idea that creating things with your own hands or whatever is inefficient, stupid, useless, or even sub-par since an LLM can obviously do it better than you can, and in much time too.

I've seen some variation of this take a thousand times, and it just isn't true lol. High energy, outgoing people get told that they're too much or need to shut up so frequently.

Spent a couple weeks with a bunch of Guyanese people. First in August 2025 and earlier this year in March. At the August one I got drunk and adopted a Guyanese accent out of the blue. Since then I've found it hard to say some words in my natural Trinidadian accent. It's not quite Guyanese, but not Trinidadian either. Interesting how that works.
And no, I haven't been able to do that accent since sobering up.

LOL I'm definitely going to get canceled for this, but from time to time I'm truly convinced that my primal primate DNA runs hot through my blood. I feel like of all the animals, I'm most emotionally connected to monkeys. I remember when I was 5 or 6, they shot an ape in some zoo in the US because it wanted to hug a baby and I bauled my little eyes out. And you can't convince me that the Curious George film isn't a blow to the heart. I just looked at the first scene there and at the end where all the animals leave George there all sad and lonely is just..Plus the song, where the singer's like Please don't go away... Please don't go away...Is this how it's supposed to be? After singing about wanting to share love and joy. Anyways, monkeys. I love my primate cousins. Maybe one day I'll adopt a monkey of my own. And I'll name him Jorge, in honour of Discovery Kids Latin America calling the show Jorge El Curioso
