I'm this week's guest on @flopcast@universeodon.com ! We talk early '80s video game cartoons. Thanks to Kevin for a) providing the surreal experience of hearing myself on it and b) making me sound less rambling through good editing.

@Robavince@vmst.io @SuperSelena64@vmst.io Apparently it's a short I. And here I've been pronouncing it "wee-ko".

@acb@mastodon.social @SuperSelena64@vmst.io GCE was the original licensee. Milton Bradley bought GCE just in time for the Crash. Afterwards, the rights reverted to Smith Engineering, the creator, who declared all the Vectrex software available on a not-for-profit basis.
I've never seen an MB Vectrex in person, just GCE.

@Sonikku@techhub.social @SuperSelena64@vmst.io Huh. I don't know that I've seen one of those. Although Weird Al did release an album that was a CD on one side and a DVD on the other.

@SuperSelena64@vmst.io Nice! Was it just cleanup or did you have to replace anything? My spinner used to work, but stopped at some point. I haven't had time to open it up.

@SuperSelena64@vmst.io Yeah, if you saw a computer game box marked for two different systems, this was likely what was inside. (Although you might get separate disks.) I believe it was more likely toward the end of the home computer wars, as MS-DOS was becoming the obvious winner.
