My niece asked me to make clothes for some of her teddies. This is my first attempt. Bit labour intensive as hound desperately wants to tear the bunny limb from limb and then eat the yarn for dessert! Next job is a set of legwarmers and matching neck warmer for a stuffed giraffe.

Hound tried defending me last night. Nothing bad happened, but I am very touched that he wanted to protect me rather than just running away! Guy was hanging around the park around 1am standing so still I almost mistook him for a tree. By the time I was close enough to know it was definitely a person, it was too late to turn around without drawing attention to myself. Also, would have meant turning my back on him which I didn't want to so as something felt off. When we got really close, he suddenly dropped his bag on the floor, and started picking up all his things and putting them back in. Dog clearly thought something was off as well, as he pulled me away but stopped every 2 or 3 paces to look back at the man and jump up and down. I have never seen him act like that before but fairly sure he was trying to look big and aggressive and ready to fight if necessary. When we got to the end of the road, dog stopped again and looked back at the park for a good minute to check the man wasn't following us. Rest of walk passed without incident and brave boy got a whole tin of tuna for supper. I think this makes up for him eating The Gift of Fear!

Non-lacey knitted shawls. The dalyance one particularly caught my eye. You knit 2 smallish shawls and sew buttons along the edges. The finished panels can be buttoned together in several ways including a big shawl; a loose, sleeveless top; and a cropped, long sleeved shrug. Tried to get name of either designer or pattern into each pic so should be easy enough to find them online. Only other knitted shawls I saw with no lace were Stephen Wests and his stuff is all over rav already. @FeartnTired@spinster.xyz

@HebrideanHecate@spinster.xyz Don't tell anyone, but I have actually been to a Billy Bragg concert. I was very young and didn't know any better. Nobody danced. The bloke next to me knew all the words and had his fist in the air for the entire concert. His arm must've been very tired by the end!

@HebrideanHecate@spinster.xyz this was being talked about on the radio when my alarm came on this morning. I got the completely wrong end of the stick and thought someone had planted a bomb at one of the disused bases being used to house recently arrived migrants. I really need to find a radio station that doesn't do news as I cannot process with current events first thing in the morning!

@HebrideanHecate@spinster.xyz It was bad enough when 'lighthrarted' TV shows started lecturing their audiences. We don't need this shit ruining music too. Every gig I've been to in the past couple of years, I've felt a small amount of dread in case the artist tried turning it into a lecture! Thankfully, almost all of them have just played the songs and not tried telling their audience what to think. I go to concerts for escapism not politics, and if I wanted to be patronised by someone with a guitar and all the correct opinions, I'd go see Billy Bragg. (but I don't, so I won't)
