"Tehran is now using its proxy network to sustain leverage while the diplomatic track absorbs international attention," Saudi analyst Hesham Alghannam said.
"The proxy war is the continuation of the direct war by other means, and it is being run with considerable strategic coherence."
____
Too bad the Trump administration is incapable of applying "considerable strategic coherence."
Trump has turned our allies into enemies and has shown our enemies how weak we are.
Trump is a petulant cunt.

Just to be clear this is the same war that Trump said he won about 5 months ago and more recently he said he doesn't care how long it takes to settle.

The Saudi push for a nuclear accord with Washington, [Dr. Heather Wilson] added, echoes “a hedging strategy we are seeing with other allies and partners. Their neighborhoods are increasingly dangerous,” in many cases because their old guarantor of security, the US, “isn’t as reliable as it once was.” The result is that they seek alternative deals and arrangements to bolster their security.
_______
Trump is old and doesn't care about the future of the US or the planet. He is a petulant cunt.

This is really unfair: everyone knows that the Iran War is all President Biden's fault. Biden's all- WOKE military including low- testosterone "fighters" is the reason why we're losing another war.

We have come full circle since Trump's father Fred and he were charged with housing discrimination in New York city. Or, to paraphrase the Doobie Brothers: Behaviors that were once illegal are now encouraged.

"The United States already lost the fight Trump started; it failed to achieve his declared goal of the Iranian regime’s unconditional surrender, or, barring that, Tehran’s acceptance of stringent nuclear restrictions. Now the conflict is over whether Iran controls Hormuz and can charge fees, or if the U.S. can restore the pre-war status quo, with ships transiting freely."

"I don't know whether [Trump] really believes that [vandals damaged the reflecting pool] or it's part of his political messaging or he's just thinking out loud. He exists loudly, and he grows anxious when he has an unexpressed thought. I'm not saying he doesn't really believe it, I just don't know," [Rep. Senator John] Kennedy said.

This is a serious matter: a member of Trump's own party is staying publicly he's not sure if Trump is delusional or lying. Either way Trump is unfit for office.

Yes it was grown outdoors but my property is covered with tall poplar trees so my plants didn't get enough sun. I am told you can get up to a pound of bud per pot plant-- I got maybe a quarter of that yield.
BUT-- what I got is GOOD, ONE-HIT POT-- and enough to last me for decades!

First of all it's not clear to me that either Nader nor especially Stein were determinative of the outcome of their respective elections.
Secondly, unlike you evidently, I am not a prophet and I could not have foreseen that Bush would be notably worse than Gore. In retrospect I shutter to think what would have happened if Gore was in the White House when 9/11 occurred. Republicans would have crucified the Democratic Party for a generation for it's failure to keep the nation safe.
