@zkamvar @coolbutuseless without casting aspersions, I feel like all nerds should know b(if)tek - one of the duo was Kate Crawford the AI researcher who wrote 'Atlas of A.I.' https://www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctv1ghv45t (Also they were very kind to my band back in the day and we all had a crush on her)

@coolbutuseless it was a sort of low tech electro-pop/electro-clash band called 'The Emergency' - old organs and synths and my crappy bass playing. They got better after I left but you can hear some of my terrible buzzy bass very prominent on this album. https://open.spotify.com/track/363RyUcKWqWEQK1CYyJkB0?si=ay_wsL6fRjaqEMGN4G85BQ

@gwenbeads can't wait to share this with colleagues at work tomorrow! I feel blessed to work with the special type of nerd that will love this!

@drgroftehauge@sigmoid.social @JohnBJohnBJohnB@mastodon.social @iris@neuromatch.social @terri@social.afront.org looks like Stata?

@pkuipersmunneke so many puffins! No wonder they used to eat them in their porridge!

@coolbutuseless @jonocarroll I remember loving a bunch Larry Niven books when I read them in the late 90s, only to learn recently he's apparently a revolting arsehole (books still likely worth a read). From his Wikipedia, while describing his advice to the US: "Among those topics was reducing costs for hospitals to which Niven offered the solution to spread rumors in Latino communities that organs were being harvested illegally in hospitals."

Don't forget everyone, next weekend all down the east coast it's the end of daylight savings and we put our clocks back an hour... Except of course Queensland where they have already wound them back to 1980 @nordacious@aus.social

@danwwilson@rstats.me I was using the horn as if we were a jack hammer and also trying to hit a chisel with the base. Apart from some proxy weight training it was kind of futile and I really just need to hire a proper concrete saw again...
