I sure hope so. Colorado ballots get mailed out starting tomorrow…I’ll be watching for mine, but if I hear about any hitches, I will be finding out what the next steps are.

100% this. The people using excuses to vote for donnie boiled down to: “because what other choice did they have? The Democrats are so radically liberal!” The people using excuses to righteously sit out or furiously vote for some bullshit third party were using single-issue nonsense like gEnOcIdEjOe, etc.
When donnie was clearly going to be far worse on any single-issue thing you could point at, plus target nearly all Americans and destroy American institutions in the process, as well.

Ha. I have a feeling that “boomers” went through the same arc. Probably more ink spilled about them than just about any other generation (Gen Y will probably come close - it’s just a numbers game, not any special property of any of these age demographics - Gen X is treated like the middle child just because we have lower numbers ), and how wayward they were as the 60’s generation/flower power generation, etc.
Over time though, “boomer” morphed into just another way of expressing ageism at older people instead of “the kids”.

I was actually pretty impressed at his reflexes, TBH. Not that the job really requires it (or it usually doesn’t), but he was pretty nimble there.
I think donnie would take it full in the face and not even know what happened, since he’s about half-asleep all the time. Dozey donnie, they call him. Everyone’s saying.

I’m not sure narcissists really get better. Is that a thing? I don’t really know.
In my experience, none of them have the self-awareness, seemingly, to seek out self-improvement to end their narcissism. And that’s people without billions allegedly to their name.
In many cases it just seems to fly under the radar. Siblings, co-workers, parents, kids, spouses - they all eventually figure out there is something “wrong” with the narcissist, and that it is not actually them at fault. The narcissist usually perfects the art of gaslighting others into thinking they are imagining stuff.

One of my faves is some moron saying that these days, Democrats fly the confederate flag, not Republicans.
Probably got one of their very favorite talking points all bungled up - the cons love talking about Democrats/Dixiecrats being the real racists because something something, some random facts pulled out of a hat, dealing with things prior to the Civil Rights era, and Republicans under Lincoln, freed the slaves. They want to talk about Robert Byrd being in the Klan like eighty fucking years ago, while talking about donnie having dinner with a shitheel like Fuentes is somehow not in the cards.
They don’t want to talk about the Southern Strategy or just about anything that happened since about 1965. That all the cons fled to the Republican Party because it is a home for racists is something they just refuse to accept.
What I love to ask these people talking about how Democrats are the real racists is this, and it’s really very simple: why is it all the Republicans having to break out the fainting couches and the smelling salts over the Confederate statues coming down?

LOL, “superintelligence”.
Okay, gramps. That term already has a meaning, dumbass. People much smarter than you have written about it, like Nick Bostrom.
Anyone taking up calling artificial intelligence “SI” is a total idiot and/or a complete simp for donnie dumb-dumb and is not worthy of joining the adult table.
Also, the idea of corporations policing themselves is just a punch line to most people, but stable genius here thinks it is something to be taken Bigly Serious.

Younger generations tend to get this kind of thing wrong, I’ve noticed. Sometimes cultural references are wildly wrong.
I saw some younger actress (?) on Jimmy Kimmel I think it was and she was referencing something obviously 80s-related, and then said something about “millennials”. Oof. That’s Peak Gen X stuff.
Jimmy didn’t comment on it, but he had to be thinking, WTF.

They should vow to investigate a whole laundry list of items if they get any kind of power at all.
And they need to make sure to broadcast to Americans why they are doing it. Too many reactionary centrists and Murc’s Law Media dipshits will try to cast any consequences for cons as being frivolous.

He came out looking dumber than Tommy Tuberville, at least in this case. And Tommy is dumber than a bag of hammers.
I did have to laugh that Foghorn Leghorn was right behind him, helping to hold up their little visual aid. That guy is actually not a blithering idiot [1] , but loves to adopt the accent of one and invent all kinds of crazy folksy sayings that no one has ever said. Foghorn is not stupid at all, but loooooves to come off like a yokel. Tommy and this guy Schmitt seem to be the real deal when it comes to idiocy.
[1] Kennedy went to Oxford and he was a fucking Rhodes scholar. I somehow doubt he was meandering around campus talking like the dumbest extra on Hee Haw with the most absurdly stereotypical accent. But I guess sounding like a smartypants isn’t going to play well with the people that are voting R.
theguardian.com/…/think-fake-news-isnt-a-real-pro…
Kennedy earned the highest honors at Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes scholar, and he was executive editor of the Virginia Law Review at the not-too-shabby University of Virginia law school.

Holy shit, well thank god the bald eagle and the flag are on there, FFS. 🤣
HAHA. About the CLARITY bill; you should ask him why he thinks the Trump family should get to make money on every single dollar issued from here on out.
unftr.com/…/the-crypto-heist-happening-right-unde…
In the piece we discussed an important word: seigniorage. This is the profit a government makes by issuing currency; essentially the difference between what money costs to make and what it’s worth. It’s how central banks fund themselves. And we said at the time Congress had just cleared a path for Donald Trump to capture a meaningful piece of that for himself and his family, in perpetuity.
And a family that collects fees on every transaction, in perpetuity, at a scale that could eventually rival the Federal Reserve’s own seigniorage.

For example, the owner of a convenience store down the street from me said he voted for Trump because he thought his admin would be “better for crypto”. He has a crypto newsletter with all sorts of stupid links to conservative BS on “X” and AI memes that say “John Thune is a traitor” (I think for not supporting the CLARITY crypto act).
The owner of the convenience store has a crypto newsletter? Wow.

Yes. JFC.
Also, I wish the opposition would get it straight about who and what the conservatives are. I see lots and lots of what seems to be a concerted effort to try to split the opposition by peeling off just enough voters on this because there are instances of Democrats that are less than great on this one issue.
But the cons, especially if the Seven Mountain Mandate types get their way, have really dire things planned.
Claiming there is not a dime’s difference between the two is either really disingenuous, or dangerously naive.

He’s the new W, but far more petty and vindictive than W or any of his accomplices ever were.
He’s an albatross - he has the worst favorability ratings of any President, and that includes W. The cons could barely even talk about Bush once his Eight Year Debacle was up…
They’d all drop him like a hot rock if he didn’t command so much influence (money) still.

Yeah, I figure the ragebait over having 20-somethings demand that politicians all just retire if they are over some arbitrary age (regardless of their position on, you know, the issues. Or their efficacy or anything like that, no, we need magical “term limits” and/or some age limit jammed down our throats instead of actually letting voters decide) was not enough to fling into the “national conversation”; the authors of this article and their outlet needed to involve everyone else in the ageist ragebait.
This is indeed eye-poppingly stupid, but I think the people they quoted have no idea what the age range of Gen Y even is. Also, maybe they do, but people very young often think anyone older than about 30 is “old”, so…shrug?

Say, whatever happened to the cons being so GRRR, ME MAD at all the “lawfare” they swore was being done to American citizens by Biden and the Deep State ™?

I remember someone was talking about some states and their anti-trans bills and how they would be just as accurate to call them the anti-Susie (or whatever their name was) Bill, since in some cases, there was like one known instance of this “issue” causing this stupid moral panic - in the entire fucking state.
I swear, the party that likes to talk about everyone else being a snowflake is constantly finding non-issues and things that are barely even a thing to get all worked up about. These are the same exact types that had fainting spells in the 80s over things like heavy metal lyrics and Dungeons and Dragons and supposed satanic cults and lots of other fantastical nonsense. In the 90s, especially after Columbine, they clutched their pearls over outsider kids wearing trenchcoats, playing videogames and listening to Marilyn Manson.
And now they are basically shaping an entire nation-state around women’s sports, FFS [1]. Keep in mind that these are the same group that sneer at things like the WNBA and women’s soccer, and that no one watches women’s sports.
Now they are calling in the fainting couches over something they mocked and derided (and probably still do).
[1] I say that because some of the voters that vote R claim it’s their #1 issue. I still am just agog at this notion. Imagine being so privileged that you have zero skin in the game for trans, and it’s your #1 issue? How the fuck is that even a thing?

Donnie seems to have all the traits of a narcissist.
Ever try to get a narcissist to apologize in good faith (not the “I’m sorry if you took offense” non-apology, I mean) for something they did, and they know they should be ashamed of and that they know you know?
Narcissists are great at putting on a big show, love-bombing people they just met in many instances, and people that are rather naive or unfamiliar with this sort of thing will be taken in by it, and could not possibly believe that person could ever be nasty or vicious.
People that have to be around them a lot and try to nail them down on the veracity of something they are saying, or actions they took that they don’t want to own up to?
You’ll see that narcissist act like a cornered animal. Everything will be turned around on the person speaking, and the person trying to nail them down? Lucky to get a word in edge-wise amidst the person talking/yelling over them, usually consisting of abusive language and even threats of violence.

Drag queens are cool. Conservative women are gross. And that is what passes for journalism in 2025.

The writer of the stupid piece probably believes her life should be a series of “and everybody clapped” when she announces that she is a conservative.
Turns out, that is not how things work in general, and definitely not for holding vile views. Turns out that people have their own moral compass, and you may hear people pushing back on your disgusting worldview. Announcing you are a conservative in many scenarios is about as well-received as someone letting out a big broccoli fart on an elevator.
Also, to your point about being happy that their awful schemes are being implemented - I know of a few cons in my life that were devastated when Roe was overturned. They were hopping mad, in fact, and thought it was part of some liberal conspiracy to make cons look bad and kill turnout for the cons.
One of the key planks in their platform, achieved after about 50 years and constant fuckery with SCOTUS. They were boiling over with rage about it. You’d think they would be happy about it, but noooo.
Same for donnie getting elected in 2016. I noticed a huge uptick in simmering rage among cons I knew IRL, saw lots of viral videos where they were having meltdowns, and posters online in forums I was in seemed to have people just more angry than ever. This was a guy they adored, and he won, or at least “won”. And they were just mad about it. I don’t know if it’s because the media, the liberals in their lives, etc…didn’t do “and everybody clapped” for them? I have no idea. I think for some of them, they had people cutting them out of their lives. People finally had enough. I know of many instances in my life where someone known to have voted for donnie was cut out of social activities.

What are they, besides disappearing people, killing solar and turbine projects, setting back fuel efficiency standards, bombing schoolgirls, ripping away healthcare, depriving children of nutrition, taxing the shit out of everyone that happens to buy anything, raising the prices of everything, raising inflation, insider trading, rampant corruption and self-dealing?

LOL, “restoring liberty”.
As usual, conservatives seem to be using the Southern definition of that word.
Also:
Americans who are alarmed by Trump should recognize the significance of the nation’s decline under progressive leaders. President Joe Biden drove the country to the far left, losing control of our borders, driving up the budget deficit and the national debt and imposing a progressive social agenda that ignored what most Americans believed.
What fucking universe do these people even live in? What decline? We had an economy that was the envy of the world at the end of 2024.
In no way is any sitting Democrat “far left”, nevermind Joe Biden. Also, “losing control of our borders”, drama much?

I remember boomers saying and writing all kinds of stupid shit about Gen X.
Later the MSM chased the numbers and set up the cage match to be between boomers and Gen Y instead. Most of it seemed to be a lot of rehashed stuff we already heard as kids from people our parents age (if they were reactionary dumbasses; not all boomers of course - quite a few boomers were very awesome including my own parents). Including the internet thing, since many of Gen X cut their teeth on things like BBS and USENET and were founding all the dot com shit…
Craig and his list probably played a huge role in the demise of newspapers…ironically, he’s a boomer.
Same with people like Stuart Brand - boomer, and I looked up to him. It’s hilarious to hear boomers blaming Gen X or anyone younger for “internet bad”, LOL.
