@DidiQ@mstdn.social This is why I say that not judging people in the past by today's standards is pure garbage. There have always been people who knew what was right and who did the right thing regardless of the "standards" of the day. Some of them paid dearly for doing the right thing.

@Lady_Star_Gem@mstdn.party And they were killed on the streets of the US by white supremacists, even when in uniform. I am also appalled that Japanese-Americans fought for the US while their parents were interned in US concentration camps, not even allowed to leave to receive medals for sons who died in combat. So, so messed up all around.
