Similarly, I am not permitted to train new hires, despite being the one person in my position who can diagnose and repair most issues with the equipment I run, and having actual paid teaching experience. Every time someone is tasked to learn how to run the equipment I use, it is NEVER during my shift, and no matter how badly they are taught, it's just ducky with the midwit managers.

And why my Electronic Engineering degree has earned me $0.00 since I got it in 2007. Buuut my professors did warn me of this on day 1. I just didn't want electronics to be magic to me, as I had a bunch of old tech that would need repairs soon. Then I learned that "beyond economic repair" is the reason why so much stuff never gets fixed.
