@cmccullough@polymaths.social For Spanish specifically, I would recommend looking at private or semi-private virtual tutors from Colombia. Because of the wage disparity, they can be extremely affordable for foreignors, are a great source of income for Colombian college students while they are in school, and can accelerate/focus your learning based on what you specifically care about. The Colombian dialect, while not a monolith, is a great launchpad for understanding many other Spanish dialects!

@flexghost@mastodon.social And I'm biased because I'm a generalist, but everyone is so specialized! It frequently feels like no one has eyes on the full picture. (Context: marketing title, but my expertise crosses marketing/product/events/customer service/delivery. Fairly techy by virtue of being a dirty Millennial who grew up when the internet was still maturing)

@flexghost@mastodon.social Went from working for small businesses to self-employed contractor to corporate. Only ~1.5 years into big corporate. For me? Absolutely hate it. Every meeting feels so shallow. Massive divide between the strategy class (director or above) and the execution class (manager or below). It feels like honesty is a bad quality - not just "oh, I need to frame problems as opportunities!" but even acknowledging problems is somehow inherently Debbie Downerism.

@Lightfighter@infosec.exchange @flexghost@mastodon.social IR degree solidarity!

@jetton@mastodon.online While I definitely agree with your sentiment, the 15M number is worth digging into! "Vacant households were broken down into several categories: "for rent," "rented, not occupied," "for sale only," "sold, not occupied," "for seasonal, recreational, or occasional use," "for migrant workers," and "other vacant."" This does not excuse Congress being utterly worthless or local & state officials refusing to change deeply restrictive housing regulations! https://www.realtor.com/news/trends/states-with-most-vacant-homes/
