It provides a complete, modular, and interoperable solution for audio/video calls, instant messaging, and video conferencing. Based on the SIP protocol, its ecosystem includes three main components: the Linphone softphone, the Liblinphone SDK, and the Flexisip server suite. Linphone is an open-source alternative to proprietary solutions, including GAFAM platforms.
La 6ème édition des Rencontres Professionnelles du Logiciel Libre (RPLL) s’est déroulée au Palais de la Bourse à Lyon. Cet événement autour du logiciel libre a réuni de nombreux acteurs de l’open source, entreprises, collectivités, associations, universités.
Nous avons eu le plaisir de participer à cette édition, marquée par de nombreux échanges autour des enjeux de la téléphonie logicielle et de son intégration dans les environnements numériques de travail.
Why use standardized protocols such as SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)?
Open standards promote interoperability between software applications, ensure better long-term compatibility, and reduce dependence on proprietary solutions.
In telecommunications, SIP enables the management of real-time communications (voice calls, video conferencing, messaging).
At Linphone, our software is built on the SIP protocol to design open, flexible, and sustainable communication solutions.
Hier, les équipes Linphone étaient présentes pour la 6ème édition des RPLL, dans le cadre magnifique du Palais de la Bourse à Lyon.
Nous avons eu le plaisir d’être exposants tout au long de la journée, mais aussi d’animer une conférence ainsi qu’un atelier autour de l’intégration de la téléphonie au sein des Digital Workplaces.

Linhome is an open-source VoIP software solution designed for video intercoms and smart door entry systems, developed by the creators of Linphone.
Linhome 1.4 is now available! This new release brings updates for Android and iOS, along with several improvements aimed at enhancing compatibility, stability, and user experience.

Use Linphone to communicate through instant messaging, with a wide range of features:

- Delivery and read receipts (IMDN)

- Dedicated media and documents section within each conversation

- Message interactions: forwarding, replies, quotes, and reactions

Linphone now integrates the AV1 codec to enhance the audio and video quality of one-to-one calls.
Developed by the Alliance for Open Media (AOM), AV1 delivers outstanding image quality even at low bitrates thanks to its highly efficient compression.
Starting with version 5.4 of our Liblinphone SDK, AV1 is integrated and enabled by default, with no manual configuration required.
