I just gave a talk on the biggest stage of my life, in front of the biggest audience of my life. Words can't express just how insanely cool this was, I'm incredibly happy and it went so well.
I talked about KRaft, my project to make a cloud service provider run out of my homelab, and any infra anywhere in the world.

European weather can be intriguing - one time it's sunny (not to be confused with warm) and thirty minutes later, you're running through hail and wind and rain to get to the metro station.
I can say I've experienced everything there is to experience with Europe :)

I have been home for 4 days, I understand already why so many of those who go abroad for university stay there QwQ

Another neat advantage of the European cold is that my phone can actually charge fast. Like what do you meaaaan I can d 0-100 in 30 minutes without turning my phone into the sun. It's like 3x as long back home :O

Advantage of the European cold is that it keeps your beers freezing :P

KubeCon is happening, and, unsurprisingly, I have neither the time nor energy to live-toot. Soooo, have some pictures instead!

Day 0, I saw the project lightning talks, as well as the colo track Cloud Sovereignty Day. After that, we had an afterparty at CiliumCon which was a lot of fun with the labs.
Yesterday was day 1, and I spent most of my time going between sponsor booths. Did have a good talk about Go vs Rust though!

I'm at KubeCon Day 0 with the project lightning talks and co-hosted events today. This morning I picked up my badge; look ma, im a speaker!!

It is 5 pm in Amsterdam. I'm waiting on my baggage - the plane unloading has been delayed. The baggage area is full of british people walking around, looking miffed (myself included tbf).
It has been 24 hours of non-stop travelling for me; beds have been reduced to a far away concept.

Aaalright I'm in London with like 9 hours till my next flight to Amsterdam. I have absolutely nothing to do and I'm cold -_-

Leaving office now, to be gone for 3 weeks. The stress and excitement levels are both really high now >:3

I had fun taking lizard pictures in the garden earlier. Though these pictures came at the cost of no less than 10 mosquito bites

i haven't eaten since yesterday, i have drunk one small water bottle in as long. i had intermittent shallow sleep for 12 hours on the plane. reality is a foreign concept and time doesn't exist anymore. i am running on one greggs cookie.
next flight to amsterdam is soon.

KubeCon trip this Wednesday, and I have questions and complaints already.
- It is foolish to take two laptops which both lack USBC charging? I was thinking my SP4 and Thinkpad P51.
- I am so sad I don't have a steam deck or similar to make the 12 hour flight tolerable. At least it's a night flight :/

My trip to Europe is becoming complicated!
Flight to London first, with a 9h layover and airport change before Amsterdam. Then Rejekts and KubeCon before going back to London to see my cousin. Not done there, as a few days later I'm off to EasterHegg in Germany. Then finally back to London in time for my flight home the next day.

I've been at Rejekts all day today, and I don't really have conference pictures :P
I have spent my day learning a ton about networking and Cilium, chaos engineering, Rust for K8s stuff, and so much stuff about in-depth memory management. Very cool day, I'm very happy with it!

I just weighed myself and I'm 43 kilos now?? The fuck do you mean I lost 2 kilos in three weeks??

A little bit later, one could catch me and my friend running to the metro station through the hail and rain and wind...
