It looks like #rust #axum release 0.9 is cooking. I'm really looking forward to it as it will feature support for routes with static suffixes prefixes like `/images/{id}.png`, IMO an absolute must have (or, rather, router without it would just be crippled). Many thanks for Ibraheem Ahmed for implementing it in matchit crate and David Mládek for adding support for it on axum side, while I just stood up to update it to the state acceptable for merging.

I've enabled miri with the last update of #FreeBSD #rust-nightly port. Also ran into an issue that the build required network access which my reprise port testing tool successfully prevented. I've reported it upstream and it was fixed in a day https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/156982

@thomask@social.octet-stream.net seconded, I closely watch this rfc too. For now it's a huge pain to do this manually, like with dependabot+cooldown (which doesn't update transitive depends anyway), or cargo update in a branch then merge it in a week. Still this feels like a band aid, while a real solution would be something like a distributed code audit system. IIRC cargo-vet does something like that, but I haven't tried it yet.

Take related to #rust ai #ethics case.

Projects without no-AI policy: AI may be involved in writing the code.

Projects with no-AI policy: AI still may be involved in writing the code. AI is also involved on contributors side to ensure that written code does not look like AI written code to get changes accepted. AI is involved on upstream side (dare to ask me why) to verify that contributed code is not AI written.

@Madic@chaos.social @AlienJay@burningboard.net you don't manage enthusiasts' time to choose how to invest it. And it so happens that not many are willing to get their hands dirty in legacy C code and GNU coding standards.

@justine given the recent FreeBSD dhclient RCE, it's not wise to imagine these are not the same shit.
