What 2 really needed was a rebalanced hard mode that doesn't require you to use DLC characters or die, serious disadvantage compared to Chrono Cross where you could stick to your faves and still have some fighting chance most of the game. Also a tutorial repository that explained the sweet spot attack distance and tap the joystick auto-attack cancels (which itself was an obtuse mechanic), and a reworked story chronology where you could play Torna/Ira in between chapters up to recommended points as you progress the main story as was originally intended (this foreshadows things better and improves investment for certain key characters, namely Shin).

The beginning hitting you with the arrange of the Rockman World stages is maybe my favorite opening of any Inti Creates Megaman album and the arrangement choices represent the source material far better than the frequent reduced tempo remixes given to 9. The final stage/boss remix Nemesisphere is an overlooked highlight because it truly has this spacelike atmosphere with the initial feeling of emptiness before hearkening to the techno style most immediately comparable to Starforce's battle themes. And above all else, it's an album that actually feels like you're meant to listen to the tracks in order, something almost completely lost in the pivot from vinyl to CDs.
