Greetings, here are the weekly #washingtonstate #kingcounty (that is, #seattle and environs) #COVID #COVID19 #wastewater toots.
A reminder that this King County respiratory disease data comes from Washington State, not the federal government.
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been highlighting the bad SARS-CoV2 concentration numbers from the West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant, which finally improved in last week's reporting. This week, they're headed back up. The last seven day running average calculation was done on 9/15.
WSPT is one of three King County(-ish) sewersheds in this dataset. You can find overviews, individual sewershed results, and a breakdown of variants for the state wastewater surveillance program, along with other metrics like case counts and hospitalizations for Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses, at https://doh.wa.gov/data-and-statistical-reports/diseases-and-chronic-conditions/communicable-disease-surveillance-data/respiratory-illness-data-dashboard#WasteWater If you go to the page and click "learn more" in the statewide view tab, you can find out lots of details about how these data are calculated and how to interpret them. The dashboard gets updated every Wednesday (generally). The Department of Health is here on the fediweb, at @WADeptHealth@universeodon.com

Last week I highlighted really terrible SARS-CoV2 concentration numbers from the West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant's 7 day running average for 8/25, but said, maybe this is a crazy outlier, let's see next week's numbers. Well, they're in, and the updated numbers are quite, quite bad. These calculations of the 7DRA were done on 8/30 and 9/1, and they are by far the worst numbers we've seen in a year (which is as far back as the dataset goes). :( :( :(

A programming note: I will be mostly or entirely offline until mid-August. I expect that the next time I'll post these wastewater reports will be August 19th. Of course, you can always check the Washington State Department of Health's website yourself: https://doh.wa.gov/data-and-statistical-reports/diseases-and-chronic-conditions/communicable-disease-surveillance-data/respiratory-illness-data-dashboard#WasteWater
See you all in a few weeks. Stay safe and have fun!
Hello, it’s the weekly #washingtonstate #kingcounty (that is, #seattle and environs) #COVID #COVID19 #wastewater toots.
A quick reminder that this King County respiratory disease data comes from Washington State, not the federal government.
The West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant's 7-Day running average of the Sars-CoV-2 levels went down a bit and then went up a bit. The last data are from 7/21.

I'm happy to report that the #washingtonstate #covid #covid19 #wastewater site is being updated again, yay. It's been down due to a supplier issue since early June.
Let's start with the West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant. The 7-Day running average of the Sars-CoV-2 levels is up above the nice low baseline level we were enjoying this spring. The last data is from 7/14.

It looks like it will be another week before we get #washingtonstate #COVID #COVID19 #wastewater reports again. 🙁
Though the weekly #washingtonstate #kingcounty (that is, #seattle and environs) #COVID #COVID19 #wastewater sampling has apparently resumed this week, there's a note up on the dashboard saying that the reporting won't start until July 22nd. That's about six weeks of no wastewater data on respiratory pathogens for the entire state, welp. I'm very disappointed.

So, ugh, this is not good: all of the Washington State wastewater data are not being updated. The note isn't making any promises about when the reporting will resume. Since Seattle has about eighteen kajillion people coming here for the World Cup, it would be really great to have wastewater reporting up and running. 😬

Ugh, the #covid #covid19 #wastewater dashboard for Washington State is out of commission again this week. :( I would love love love to see this get fixed, @WADeptHealth@universeodon.comhttps://doh.wa.gov/data-and-statistical-reports/diseases-and-chronic-conditions/communicable-disease-surveillance-data/respiratory-illness-data-dashboard#WasteWater
