Good news story: Fremantle's new traffic bridge is coming back before Christmas, on budget at $596 million, and ahead of its original 2027 timeline. But the real headline is what happened during the closure: Fremantle Station boardings jumped 20%, parking up 30%, and overall river crossings fell by a fifth. People changed behaviour. They used public transport. It proves transit works when it's given a chance. Now imagine what we could achieve if that same focus and funding were directed to the outer suburbs and growth corridors that have waited decades for decent rail or bus services. On time and on budget is possible. It just needs to be the priority. #wapol #auspol

The Shire of Murray just did the job the WAPC should be doing: they said no to a $350M proposal without the basic assessments a primary school project would need. The developer – Perth Food Bowl Corporation – wants to build a bio-fertiliser, greenhouse, solar farm, and BESS on Gull Road, Keralup. Sounds great. Except the odour modelling doesn't exist, the bushfire plan contradicts itself (turns out BESS batteries count as hazardous material), there's no traffic plan for the new Mandjoogoordap Drive extension, and the emergency management report ignores thermal runaway risks. Nearby composting and piggery already stink up Mandurah and Rockingham. Then the state's 'significant development pathway' lets applications skip full council scrutiny. That's data obfuscation in action: benefits for the company, risks for the community, and the paperwork buried until it's too late. #wapol #auspol https://www.perthnow.com.au/wa/mandurah/shire-of-murray-opposes-350m-agriculture-facility-says-critical-details-missing-c-22650188

A 16-year-old boy is charged with murdering his mother and attempting to kill his 12-year-old sister in an alleged domestic violence homicide in Bentley, Perth. WA Police say they'll examine 'any past interactions the family had with police' — after the fact. This is the pattern: the system waits for a body count to ask what it missed. Investment in early intervention, mental health support, and family services is chronically underfunded while incarceration budgets balloon. Another family pays the price while we fund courts and prisons instead of prevention. #auspol #wapol

https://globalextremism.org/post/battle-ground/ Then the family that bought the town bought the newspaper covering it. The Spillers acquired the 117-year-old Reflector. The seven-person staff had to reapply for their jobs as part of a six-month review. In an editorial, Spiller promised the news coverage would be neither puff pieces nor punches pulled, and then noted that it would continue to cover his own family and businesses. In January, the board of Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries, which runs the Battle Ground library, struck the words “equity” and “equitable” from its strategic plan. A trustee resigned. #orpol #wapol #battleGround #clarkCounty #MAGA #USPol #kkk #klan #pnw #Washington #Oregon #christianNationalism #christofascism #maddox #camdenSpiller #dougWilson #theocracy #crWiley #maddoxIndustrialTransformer #maddoxIndustrial #companyTown #gildedAge #theosophy #corruption #monopoly #racism
