There is a mayoral debate put on by the Toronto Star and the Toronto Regional Board of Trade on Citytv (and also YouTube) at 6 p.m. today. Mentioning this now so you can find literally anything else to do with your time. How well someone does or what someone says in a debate has absolutely no bearing on what they will actually do in office or how well they will do it. They are completely unrelated. The real hard work is getting stuff done behind the scenes and getting everyone on board before it even gets to Council. There is relatively little debate-style back-and-forth and if there is, it does not change anyone's minds. #TOcouncil #TOpoli

Also—I think I rant about this every campaign—politicians can literally just say anything. It's like cops, they're allowed to lie (and mislead, and promise things they can't deliver, and be wrong). Don't look at what they promise, that's worth bupkes, look at what they've already done. Okay I'm taking a nap now. #TOcouncil #TOpoli

Holyday is talking, but for the past week I have been reviewing every single Council vote over the last four years, and I am telling you I have had it up to fucking HERE with this fucking waste of atoms, he doesn't deserve an iota more of anyone's fucking attention, this fucking ghoul does nothing but eat up Council time and resources to concern-troll. I know it sounds like I might be just saying this because I am mentally ill and distraught, but I assure you this is how I feel about Holyday at the best of times. #TOcouncil #TOpoli

#TOcouncil livetweeting is a lot like #Monsterdon: it's interminably long, just about everyone is unlikeable, you're not sure if it's dark outside or not, and when there are props (over the years, a few councillors have made a Thing of bringing props in to illustrate various points), they're cheap.
