Supplementary elections: low turnout, the record is in Neapolitan district AGI - The low turnout at polling stations during the supplementary elections in constituency 05 of Reggio Calabria (71 municipalities) confirms that this type of electoral consultation is the least attended of all time. The Calabrian data, as of today’s closing of polls at 3:00 PM, recorded a turnout of 22.34%, down 27.06% from September 2022's 49.40%. However, this is not the lowest turnout ever recorded in Italy. Negative record in a Neapolitan constituency According to an Openpolis analysis based on data from the Ministry of Interior, the negative record was set in February 2020, with a 9.52% turnout in a Neapolitan constituency. The Terni constituency also ranks third, with 14.51% in March 2020, and Cagliari, with 15.54% in January 2019. A more recent point of comparison is the supplementary elections for the Senate in constituency 06 of Lombardy (Monza-Brianza) on October 22nd and 23rd, 2023, to fill the seat left vacant after the death of Silvio Berlusconi. The final turnout at polling stations (open Sunday and Monday until 3:00 PM) was 19.23%, while in previous political consultations it had reached 71% (more than 50 percentage points lower). While in the supplementary elections in Tuscany, Siena constituency, which saw the election of Enrico Letta to Parliament, the turnout stabilized at 35.59%, a figure higher than the average for supplementary elections but still halved compared to general elections. According to analysts, underlying these figures, besides a chronic exodus from the polls that has been alarming for several years, is also poor communication and the singularity of the consultation, not integrated with national, regional or municipal political elections. #Neapolitan #ReggioCalabria #Calabrian #2234% #2706% #4940% #Italy #Openpolis #Terni #third #1451% #Cagliari #1554% #Senate #Lombardy #Monza-Brianza #SilvioBerlusconi #1923% #Tuscany #Siena #EnricoLetta #Parliament #3559% https://www.agi.it/politica/news/2026-09-28/flop-affluenza-suppletive-39291354/

"The dog that's acting with me? Better than George Clooney and Matt Damon": Brad Pitt jokes at the premiere of Heart of the Beast, bringing four adoptable dogs onto the red carpet – VIDEO Life is more beautiful with a dog. Brad Pitt has no doubts when he talks about his relationship with animals. The 62-year-old actor has spoken about living with three dogs, one of which was adopted from a shelter, and explained how their presence is part of his daily routine. The occasion was the premiere of Heart of the Beast, the new film directed by David Ayer in which Pitt plays an ex-special forces officer stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with his fighting dog, Odin. Interviewed by Extra, the actor revealed that his “family” consisting of Jacques and Blackout Superstar recently gained a new member: “Now we have three. Yes, the third is adopted.” The question stemmed from the coexistence on set with Uber, the German Shepherd who plays Odin in the film: how did his dogs react when Pitt returned home with the scent of his four-legged co-star on him? “The dogs are hilarious from this point of view. They don’t really become jealous. They simply become more interested. It's as if there is someone extra at the party,” explained the actor. “The dog that acts with me? Mattei Plan, the partnership is written in drafts/promissory notes. 8.8 billion dollars. The Global South will pay this amount by 2026 to repay its debt, approximately 225 times the 39 billion it received in 2024 as climate-related grants: this is calculated by ActionAid with Development Finance International in the report “Debt Fuels the Climate Crisis,” presented today at a parliamentary hearing on the third Mattei Plan annual report. In the most vulnerable countries, debt service is almost 25 times the climate spending and takes up nearly 65% of public revenue. Giorgia Meloni presented the plan as "peer-to-peer cooperation based on respect." Only that the 18 partner countries primarily receive loans, and 11 of them are already classified as highly indebted while nine are on the list of least developed countries of the United Nations. In Senegal, which entered the perimeter in 2025, debt costs more than six times public climate spending, and in Mozambique, where the ratio is 117 to one, creditor pressure pushes the government to expand fossil fuel extraction, which will be financed with other loans. The main channel is the Italian Climate Fund, €4.4 billion earmarked for the Ministry of Environment and managed by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which within the Mattei Plan can also disburse in non-concessionary regimes – that is, at market conditions – while IrpiMedia has documented how it has shifted Italian climate finance from subsidies to credits. “Behind the rhetoric of peer-to-peer partnership hides an interest in positioning Italy in the competition for resources in Africa,” says Cristiano Maugeri, a climate justice expert for ActionAid Italia, who calls for the cancellation of unsustainable debts until its cost falls below 10% of public revenue, and calculates that it would be enough to finance six times the national climate plans of the countries that today repay them. Six times. Italy instead offers credit to those already paying the bill for emissions produced elsewhere, right where the climate crisis has already devoured the budget margin. The partnership between equals, read in accounting, is called exposure. The article Mattei Plan, the partnership is written on bills of exchange appears first on LA NOTIZIA. #MatteiPlan #third #nearly65% #GiorgiaMeloni #theUnitedNations #Senegal #Mozambique #theMatteiPlan #IrpiMedia #Italian #Italy #Africa #CristianoMaugeri #ActionAidItalia #first #LANOTIZIAhttps://www.lanotiziagiornale.it/piano-mattei-il-partenariato-si-scrive-in-cambiali/

Sinner enters the ATP tournament in Vienna, the announcement of the tournament. Vienna, September 14 (Adnkronos) - World number one Jannik Sinner is registered for the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna, scheduled from October 24th to November 1st. The organizers of the Erste Bank Open announced this, of which the world number 1 is the defending champion. “The defending champion Jannik Sinner returns to the Erste Bank Open! Jannik Sinner will step onto the court at the Erste Bank Open 2026! From October 24th to November 1st, the world number 1 will try to repeat the triumph of the previous year in the Wiener Stadthalle. This would be his third title in the last three participations in the Vienna tournament,” writes the Vienna tournament. The world number 1 is leading the entry list alongside champions such as Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and other Italians Flavio Cobolli and Lorenzo Musetti. A rematch with Zverev could repeat itself in 2026, who after winning at Roland Garros in June also won the US Open. Also present are the local favorite Frances Tiafoe, to whom Learner Tien, Jakub Mensík, Brandon Nakashima and Tommy Paul add among others. Already before the official closure of registrations, set for September 30th, a very high-level lineup is emerging. But above all, attention focuses on the title holder: will Sinner, after 2023 and 2025, be able to win the trophy in his third consecutive participation in Vienna? Entry into the entry list of course does not automatically mean participation but “the bond between Sinner and the Erste Bank Open is long-standing. In 2019, the Italian arrived in Vienna ranked number 119 in the world thanks to a wildcard; in 2020 he received another invitation from tournament director Herwig Straka. In the meantime, he has become one of the biggest stars of world tennis, winning the tournament in 2023 and 2025,” it reads further on the tournament website. “His most recent triumph is still firmly etched in the memory of the fans: in last year’s final, Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev after three sets of top level play. At that time, he expressed words of great affection for the tournament: "Vienna is a very special tournament for me and I also love the city. Here they have always treated me very well. If I have to play a tournament this week, I choose Vienna.” #Vienna #JannikSinner #theErsteBankOpen #third #AlexanderZverev #DaniilMedvedev #Italians #FlavioCobolli #LorenzoMusetti #Zverev #RolandGarros #theUSOpen #FrancesTiafoe #LearnerTien #JakubMensík #BrandonNakashima #TommyPaul #Italian #HerwigStrakahttps://www.iltempo.it/adnkronos/2026/09/14/news/sinner-iscritto-all-atp-di-vienna-l-annuncio-del-torneo-49136168/

The Olympic champion Italian athlete dominated the high jump final. After third place in Brussels in the Diamond League final, and after gold at the European Championships in Birmingham and the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, the 34-year-old Marche champion prevailed by jumping 2.37 meters, a seasonal world record. Second place went to American JuVaughn Harrison with 2.30. The champion then put on his personal show and after failing the last attempt at 2.41 he rises up and celebrates with somersaults, a lap of honor, and a run towards the stands, overtaking as usual to greet his wife, eldest daughter Camilla, and his fans. Gimbo, who came onto the stage with his traditional ‘half shave’ (‘halfshave’, his nickname), then went on to take the trophy in the award ceremony with the tricolor on his shoulders and received all the applause when his name was announced, then while raising the prize at the stadium Gianna Nannini's "Bello e impossibile" (Beautiful and Impossible) resonated. The last time Tamberi had jumped 2.37 went back to June 11, 2024 in the final of the European Championships in Rome under the watchful eye of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The measure obtained in Budapest is the same with which he won gold (alongside Mutaz Barshim from Qatar) on August 1, 2021 at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. #Tamberi #Budapest #GimboTamberi #Italian #third #Brussels #theDiamondLeague #Birmingham #Taranto #Marche #237meters #Second #American #Camilla #SergioMattarella #MutazBarshim #Qatar #Tokyo #OlympicGameshttps://www.iltempo.it/adnkronos/2026/09/13/news/ultimate-championship-un-super-tamberi-vince-anche-a-budapest-49131193/
