Howdy Y'all! it's #introduction time! I'm Lauren, she/her, over 30, neurodivergent, chronically-ill, furry/anthro :moomin_happy: A visual artist trained in traditional mediums and digital art programs. I enjoy drawing masks or respirators on my fursona and original characters (OCs), as well as drawing masks onto already existing memes, so I'll be uploading those here ✅️ I'm looking for a more COVID realistic community online. Exhausted by being the only one in public wearing a mask :capoopleading: Interests & hobbies: art history, animation/anime, animals, comics/manga, disaster shows, fitness, monster hunter, farm sims, racing games, mythology, nature, motorsports, solo sports, and retro tech My favorite masks so far are bifolds with head straps + nose foam, duckbills with head straps, and medium-size respirators. I currently own a 3M half face respirator and a Forged Air respirator. I'm saving up for an Omnimask respirator :acnhbells: I get most of my disposable masks (n95 head straps!) from the local library 📚️ Please check your local library for FREE COVID masks! :n95: I do NOT approve of my artwork being used to train AI and/or being used as token(s) and/or any equivalent technology developed in the future ❌️ #COVIDIsNotOver #StillCOVIDing #N95 #MastoArt #memes #queer #LGBTQIA2S #neurodivergent #Chronicillness #furryart #COVIDcautious #maskup #butch

The most common reactions to my #N95 masking in 2026. (In no particular order.) Total indifference. As if I'm not even wearing one. Slight twitch of the face upon first seeing it but otherwise ignores it. Longish stare with confused look (often followed by and eye roll or dismissive head shake). Seemingly genuine curiosity; asking why I'm wearing a mask when I don't have to. (Genuineness of the question is quickly determined by the reaction to the answer.) Can't fathom why I'm doing it but admirers the commitment. Keeping a "safe distance" away because of the assumption that I'm sick, but otherwise not saying anything. "Are you sick?", asked from two metres away. Asking "are you ok" and meant in the sense of questioning my mental health, usually said with a fake look of concern. When I confirm that yes, I am in fact doing great, a follow up quizzical look, eye roll, or some other indication that that can't possibility be true. Unspoken but clear annoyance. Outright verbal hostility. #CovidIsNotOver #MaskUp2026

We had 6 years to adopt clean air standards We had 6 years to normalize masking Society chose denial instead Now as wildfires rage & the air turns to poison … people are left unprotected Covid cautious folks are still trying to protect those who’ve ignored them for years We are still trying to arm people with the tools they need to keep themselves and their families healthy. We’re handing out N95s. We’re supporting mask blocs. We’re teaching people how to build corsi Rosenthal boxes. We’re educating about the health risks of wildfire We’re still fighting to help anyone who will listen. We’ve been left by the wayside, but we haven’t given up. Everyone is at risk from wildfire smoke. Everyone. You can’t choose to not breathe. We share the air and we need to start caring about the quality of that air. Invest in good quality respirators. Get air purifiers for your home. Support clean air groups in your neighborhood. Hand out masks to the unhoused and those who can’t escape the elements. No one is coming to save us. We must show up and save each other. #wildfires #cleanair #climate #climatechange #n95 #COVIDisAirborne #covidisnotover
