GENOVA (ITALPRESS) – A narrow victory for Genoa de Rossi who beat Südtirol 1-0 and qualifies for the eighth finals of the Italian Cup, where the rossoblù will face Inter. Decisive was the goal in the final minutes by substitute Vázquez, who, three minutes from the 90th minute, avoided penalties. It was Genoa who dominated the first third of the game, managing the ball and pressing high on Südtirol, a team that plays in Serie B. At the 15th minute Drameh became dangerous for the Ligurians, freeing himself on the right and shooting across Plizzari, who responded present. The Possanzini team thought more about defending, conceding Genoa a couple of wild shots, first by Baldanzi and then by Wiafe. In the dying minutes Amorim attempted, from midfield, to find the light to shoot with his right foot, but Plizzari was reactive in saving it corner kick. In the second half Südtirol started better, with Federico Davi who launched himself on the right and shot a few meters from the goal, but Stoloz put his hand out and saved his team. Genoa responded, with Wiafe fished into the area by a high ball that the Genoan headed little missing the goal. Still Süditrol, this time from the left, with Burnete who shot on the plate finding a deflection that sent the ball to corner. Changes for De Rossi, with the arrivals of Colombo, El Shaarawy and Messias to increase offensive pressure in the final phase of the match. At the 83rd minute it was Colombo and Messias who created an opportunity for Genoa, with the Italian striker exploiting the depth on the left and putting it in for the Brazilian, inaccurate in beating the net. The score remained 0-0 until the 87th minute when Genoa exploited the corner taken by Puczka for Vázquez’s header, lost in marking by Federico Davi, who was decisive in the deflection that secures passage to the next round. – Photo Ipa Agency –(ITALPRESS).
