As the EU doesnt have a data broker registry, we have extracted the framework to identify possible databrokers . The study researched data brokers within Belgium, the methodology developed is designed to be transferable. We made it into a usable how to so you can discover data broker on your own, or help people to opt out. #privacy #privacymatters #EU #europe #GDPR #databrokershttps://privacyinsightsolutions.com/blog/how-to-identify-data-brokers-eu (original from Data Brokers Market Study, by Ruben d'Hauwers EPDB 2026 "the methodology developed and applied in this study is designed to be transferable and may serve as a valuable reference for other supervisory authorities across the EU wishing to conduct similar investigations")

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plans to pay data broker giant Thomson Reuters $125 million for access to its databases of personal data — which includes peoples’ names, addresses, Social Security numbers, ethnicity, social media posts, and geolocation information — to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigate what it describes as “voters fraud” and immigration fraud, according to procurement documents reviewed by 404 Media. The document says Thomson Reuters is able to let ICE continuously monitor millions of people and entities of interest. The news comes after President Trump held a conspiracy-laden and unhinged press conference about election security on Thursday, setting the stage for potentially undermining the legitimacy of the upcoming midterm elections. It also follows ICE fatally shooting 2 people in a week. “Due to ICE’s re-prioritized mission, there is need for this data to be readily accessible to support the presidential mandate of the identification of Voters Fraud, Immigration Fraud and National Security,” the procurement document reads. “This data specifically validates and verifies school, benefit, immigration and other eligibility requirements.”” https://www.404media.co/ice-to-pay-thomson-reuters-125-million-to-find-voter-fraud/ #USA #ICE #DataBrokers #ThomsonReuters #Trump #Surveillance #Privacy #Immigration

If you've ever wondered: How can they know so much about me? It's probably because of data brokers. You know those "data enrichment partners" they are mentioning as vaguely as possible in the privacy policies you didn't read? To learn more about data brokers, I highly recommend watching this excellent interview with @yaelwrites@mastodon.social by @privacyguides@mastodon.neat.computer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Monbu9bh6nY #Privacy #DataBrokers #MassSurveillance

We all need a personal #AI that has access to a handful of shopping, social media, youtube and other accounts. The AI needs to be set to act like multiple people with many differing data points, ages, locations, preferences etc. If the #databrokers are going to watch us, create a ton of garbage data for them. AI agents can even buy things for us, give them prepaid credit cards to use and make your purchases through them. The more they watch, the more garbage I create. #privacy #PII
