The kestrel that I rescued earlier today had a sibling. They are now being looked after and fed by a local community of helpers. I’ll keep you posted.

mastodon 4.8.0-nightly.2026-10-06Hello! I am here mostly to post my own #birdphotography taken in and around #leipzig and described in 🇬🇧\🇵🇱\🇩🇪 • The avatar features the open-mouthed head of a German Shepherd dog in front of the face of a white man wearing sunglasses and a fur hat - that's me! • The banner shows an adult European bee-eater flying towards the viewer with its wings and tail spread flat • Respect and protect nature. Be kind.

Here's an update on the rescued kestrel(s): yesterday evening, we went to feed it again. After eating some chopped chicken, it decided to work out a bit. Ultimately, it flew several metres above the ground in a straight line! We watched from a distance and left when we realised the mother was observing from the rooftop.
Will you stop stalking me, human? I'm trying to build a nest here! Penduline tit (Remiz pendulinus, 🇩🇪 Beutelmeise, 🇵🇱 remiz).

@keepsake@mastodon.social You are very kind. I don't consider myself a good photographer. I just let the camera do the work
