New Speed of Sound v0.13 release is out! Added support for a system tray icon that works across distros, LLM providers get a Disable Thinking toggle to cut latency, a test connection button, plus the usual little improvements.

New Speed of Sound release (v0.12.0) is out!
You can now use NVIDIA Parakeet and Canary models for on-device transcription, alongside Whisper. More models = better accuracy across languages + more offline/private options.
Also: the app can now start hidden (for auto-launch on login).

GNOME devs: what's the modern approach for apps to add a status indicator to the Shell top bar? I understand libindicator is no more. An extension and GSettings to sync state?
