If you would like to help financially support the development of a new Wayland compositor for Xfce, you can do so by contributing funds via our #OpenCollective accounts. For US contributions: https://opencollective.com/xfce For EU contributions: https://opencollective.com/xfce-eu These contributions will help pay for the funding of longtime Xfce core developer Brian Tarricone to create xfwl4, a brand-new Wayland compositor for Xfce. Thank you for your support! #Xfce #Wayland #Rust #FOSS #Linux

RE: @xfce@floss.social

A short update for March 2026.

We are continuing to actively fundraise for financial support to develop a Wayland compositor for Xfce(xfwl4).

In the month of February, we have received 52 donations (Xfce: $419.61 & Xfce(EU): €634.10).
To date, we have paid out $15,050 for work completed on xfwl4.

Thanks again for your generous support and ongoing donations. We are grateful for your commitment to help improve Xfce.

Is following @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy blocked by floss.social admins?

e: We'd like to bridge this account to BlueSky. If we're missing some obvious step, we'd like to know. Searching for the account here brings up no accounts to follow. We have no interest in creating an account on BlueSky; but, bridging would be a least effort way of spreading the #Xfce love. Would hate to have to move to a different instance.

That's great to hear about, Adam!
I would recommend jumping on our general #Xfce matrix channel and let people know about it: https://app.element.io/#/room/#xfce:matrix.org

You could also try announcing it on our sub-reddit r/xfce or on Lemmy: https://lemmy.world/c/xfce
