"The room block closes June 4th, get your reservations in before that. The code is good from Thursday to Sunday.

Pre-reg closes June 19th. Registration at the con will be card only. If at all possible please pre-reg so we have a better idea of how many are coming.

If you backed the Go Fund Me and have not let FCB know if you are attending, please send Eric an email, his address is on the website.

The food guide is available on the Hotel page on the website as well as in the files in the FCB Facebook group.

Sadly the extremely extensive vertigo flare I've been dealing with still has not settled*, so I'm trying to take extra steps to minimize its impact on my trip to FKO this weekend. As part of that, I'm wondering if anyone will be in the vicinity of the Toronto Pearson (YYZ) airport Friday afternoon & would be willing to help me get to the hotel in Markham? Flight due in at 3.45pm ET.

I am aware of the transit options, and normally wouldn't mind, but there are concerns about my ability to navigate those if the flight (or just my brain) flares things too much so checking on other possibilities. Along those lines, if anyone else in coming in around then and wants to share non-transit expenses (or help me navigate TTC), let me know?

Curious if anyone uses specific programs on your (preferably Win & Nix) computers for photo storage & organization, beyond just folders in a picture directory. Those looking are NOT interested in subscription services or cloud storage, and don't need tons of fancy features - just keeping tabs on primarily-cellphone-camera-shots. So probably the ability to add multiple tags to files, so something would show up in different categories without having several copies maybe? Things like that.....

Interfilk is in search of a social media human! We are currently interviewing for this position. Please note that this is a volunteer position and will take about 2 hours of time per week.

“Wow cool! I’m interested! What would I be doing?”

We currently have Bluesky, Facebook, and a channel in the Filkhaven discord. It would be your responsibility to update said social media with announcements about #Interfilk Guests, grants, mini-grants, volunteer needs, contests…and pretty much anything else we want to disseminate.

You need to be able to:
*write engaging social media posts
*have some design ability (Canva is perfectly fine!)
*work in a timely manner, as some of this work does have deadlines.
*possibly the ability to use some tech fu to share our announcements to new/different social media
*creativity
*thoughts about possibly expanding Interfilk's reach to Tumblr and maybe even video content
