I braindumped a summary about Huion tablet devices and how they currently integrate into the lower parts of the desktop stack: https://who-t.blogspot.com/2026/04/huion-devices-in-desktop-stack.html
neeeEEEEEOOOooommmm - that was the sound of the libinput 1.30-rc1 being released and zooming past you.
With configurable disable-while-typing timeouts and the new 3fg fast swipe when 3fg dragging is enabled, it contains more positive things than anything you've read in weeks.
Pressurepads are now detected nicely too, provided you're on kernel 6.19 or later (haha, yeah, right...).

`git config --global diff.context 8` is a significant QoL improvement
Finally got this into a nice state (and bursting with features): schupfn is a "boot a toolbox to a VM" script.
Create your toolbox, work in it normally and then run `schupfn create $name && schupfn enter $name` to boot into a VM based on that toolbox. Only PWD is exported by default and everything else is discarded on VM shutdown.
Great for e.g. letting an agent go yolo without worrying - after all it only has access to directories you explicitly give it.
Rust and my SSD disagree strongly on how much disk space a project should reasonably take.

it might have deeper financial partnership and relation under the hood, maybe between RHLE, VFX Studios and Wacom.
A definitive statement for clarity here: that is not the case. The naming is classic developer naming (influenced by the Wacom engineers creating or being involved with these repos from early on). Wacom was synonymous for graphics tablets in the same way as e.g. Australians say esky instead of ice box.
*honk* *honk* Move to the slow lane please, libinput 1.31 release going past.
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/releases/1.31.0
Nothing new over the RC1 so we're still looking at:
- configurable disable-while-typing
- fast swipes if 3fg drag is on
- tablet tool name is now available
- better pressurepad detection
- SW_KEYPAD_SLIDE support
libinput 1.31.1 and 1.30.3 are out, fixing a sandbox escape in the lua plugins. The security advisory on the wayland-devel list has more but basically: update your libinput package, doubly so if you are on GNOME50 and/or Fedora 43 or later.

Psst. you!
Yes, you.
libinput 1.29rc1 is out. Don't tell anyone.
The list of (secret!) goodies is: better scroll wheel heuristics, new tablet eraser button configuration and an internal plugin pipeline (no public plugins yet though).
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/releases/1.28.901
libinput 1.29 will (probably) have a Lua plugin system. But it'd be nice to get some feedback and early testing so we don't ship an unexpected API.

Ok, I give up (and so do all the llms I've asked). Any help with Cargo's workspace confusion would be appreciated.
I have two Rust projects. One is a dependency in a git repo that is a cargo workspace ("their_workspace") which has the actual crate ("their_crate") that I need inside it. Its their_workspace/their_crate/Cargo.toml has `workspace.version = true`.
I have to make API changes to their_crate and test them locally.
