Mit Schreiben vom 24.6.2024 hat das Finanzamt Hamburg-Nord den Entzug der Gemeinnützigkeit der WHS für das Jahr 2020 zurückgenommen.

Mit Schreiben vom 26. Februar 2024 hat das Finanzamt Hamburg-Nord der Wau-Holland-Stiftung die Gemeinnützigkeit für das Jahr 2020 entzogen; die WHS wird gegen diese Entscheidung Einspruch einlegen. Bis zur Klärung dieses Vorgangs darf die Stiftung für eingehende Spenden keine Zuwendungsbescheinigungen mehr ausstellen.

In a letter dated February 26, 2024, the Hamburg-Nord tax office revoked the Wau-Holland-Stiftung’s non-profit status for 2020; the WHS will appeal this decision. Until this matter has been clarified, the foundation may no longer issue receipts for incoming donations.

Heute vor 20 Jahren verstarb Günter Holland-Moritz, der Vater von Wau. Günter hat vor seinem Tod das Stiftungsgeschäft unterzeichnet und die dafür notwendigen (Geld-)Mittel zur Verfügung gestellt. Leider hat er die Anerkennung der Stiftung im Dezember 2003 durch das Regierungspräsidium Kassel nicht mehr erleben dürfen.
@mxy@kolektiva.social Maybe the text isn't clear enough, but what we meant is: With the plea deal no court ruling was made if journalistic activities (even those falling under the Espionage act) are covered by the 1st amendment. So yes, Julian is off the hook, but everyone else engaging in similar activities is not.

The Washington D.C. Belmarsh Tribunal — organized by the Progressive International in partnership with the Wau Holland Foundation — will be held at the National Press Club on Capitol Hill on Jan. 20th to hear expert testimony from journalists, whistleblowers, lawyers, publishers, and parliamentarians on assaults to press freedom and the crack-down on journalists, their sources, and their publishers that disrupts the public’s access to information and shuts off dissent.
