He knew about it and went anyway. @brentsimmons If you must have an Apple device, buy used (not from Apple). That way you can ensure that Apple doesn't get the money.
Open post Matthew Cowen @virek@mastodon.social · 5mo ago Replying to @tante@tldr.nettime.org
Oh Mullenweg exploded again.

The thing is: He criticizes processes and slow pace (which one can do) but his solution basically is no process and just winging it. Which - given wordpress runs millions of people's websites - is just childish and irresponsible. It's the classical "strong man" argument.

Wordpress' processes might be problemattic ( ;) ) but that also stems from lack of vision and lack of establishing modes and spaces for experimentation where people are not afraid that Mullenweg is gonna publicly shit on them for not loving LLMs enough.

The problem is still weak leadership. Who is the leader again?
@tante Dipshit shits his own bed. Now it's a problem everyone else, and they have to clean up for him like he's three years old. It's so tiring to listen to these people.

It's a phased rollout that will auto-update over the next week for everyone, or you can update manually from the App Store app whenever you'd like. More details: https://www.reddit.com/r/overcast/comments/1sg7epz/version_20264_released_transcripts/ @overcastfm@mastodon.social Where do I turn it off?
Open post Matthew Cowen @virek@mastodon.social · 6mo ago Replying to @Rycochet@furs.social @zzt I'm enjoying pro Ai blogs like Mike Masnick's Techdirt desperately trying to ignore genuine concerns about AI and the people that are pushing it and glomming on to anything and everything they can find to try and paint everyone with concerns as medieval witch Hunters or McCarthyists because some people online accused something of being AI slop incorrectly, then getting yelled at for a hundred comments because they're so far out of line with their own readers. You can tell they're flailing when the defense of the plagiarism engine requires smears or pushing groups who are opposed on every other issue together to create hypocrisy. @Rycochet @zzt There’s good reason he’s mentioned in David Golumbia’s book Cyberlibertarianism.
