📣🥳 Announcement 🥳📣

Everyone meet Pao, the mascot for my new company Kabao–pronounced like... Kapow! I'm starting a new company making Asian-inspired snacks for the fit & fun.

We're still in R&D but happy to invite you to the taste test our sample rounds if you love Boba and other asian snacks: http://kabao.shop.

Full story is on Twitter because I can't fit it here!

Here to change the Star feature to a Fist Bump to say, "hey i read this, no comment, but also good vibes"

Waiting for ONE social media tool which understands people as human beings and not accounts floating in several disconnected ethers.

What are you designing today? I'm working on a new data visualization.

I honestly think I found my dream career early in life (making software) but the cumulative amount of time I'm stopped from doing that is astounding... so much that it's existential at this point.

If we're mutuals on Twitter and I'm not following you back on Mastodon, it's not me, notifications on Mastodon are half broken.

Reply please so I can find you again.

I haven't been able to find so much value out of mastodon (granted I didn't try very hard), but I'm also on bluesky @tranhelen.bsky.social.

yah imma be honest with you i still don't know what to do here except to report all my tweets over here and that seems to be, generally, a waste of time

@provisionalidea@techhub.social It seems to me that some of the engagement sort of helps bc your reply is blasted. IME it sets a boundary for everyone reading it that you won't put up with it.

@scottdotis@indieweb.social what was it like doing the first one? can you share?

i get that my reputation has been built on telling people the direct truth, even when I'm wrong, but goddamn some ppl never give you credit for being anything else anyway

@joshn@mas.to thank you. this isn't my first physical business but it's my first physical product. it's very different + scaling problems are hard to resolve

@saismo@mastodon.world I found it not so friendly. I responded to some ENG a bit ago and he shit a brick that I disagreed with him about decentralization. I felt that was pretty "in line" with angsty engineers in my past and just logged off for three weeks.

@trisweb@m.trisweb.com i like them. BUT i think i only like them because i'm goal-oriented and trying to teach someone the basic skills of goal-setting through OKRs is a losing battle.

@b3ll@mastodon.social ! is netflix doing something like this?

@mmasnick@mastodon.social Not cynical, just different values.

@mmasnick@mastodon.social You are thinking of this as a tech solution and most people do not look at the world this way.
