Okay - I just listened to 1.5 hours to hear a 2 second announcement from Coffee Stain that yes there will be Satisfactory DLC called "Core Values" and it won't be ready this year.
Just saved you 90 minutes of watching the stream. #Satisfactory
The fucknut IT director who tried to blame me (a contracted web developer) for security deficiencies in their hosting provider setup (which IT had set up and I never had responsibility over) phased me out of work at this particular organization citing "security concerns".
Fast forward over a year since I've worked with them - they only this morning removed my access to their accounts, I found out via an email.
Call me crazy, I don't think the security concerns were anything to do with me.
Many people are getting error code 5008 in Star Citizen, preventing one from even installing the game. The error has been logged on the issue council, supported by over a hundred people, and it's been sitting at "confirmed" for a YEAR.
CIG - you have raised a billion fucking dollars. If you don't have people working on solving serious, game breaking bugs like this one, you should be in prison for fraud.
Yes, it is unprofessional to bring a beverage of any kind (or food) to a job interview. Who TF raised gen Z?
Caffeinate before hand, or after, or once you get the job. Pretending you have a right to caffeinate during an interview is ridiculous.

@niccolove@fosstodon.org Hello Niccolò, just wanted to stop by and send you best wishes. I'm very sad to hear you've been receiving trollish abuse.

It's pretty awesome that I can whip up a quick flatbread in the time it takes me to make supper. I feel like I unlocked a new tier in bread competency or something...
A star trek truth:
You do not ever, EVER fuck with Uhura :)
If you run a cooking youtube channel, please hold your knife properly if you'd like to convince your audience you know what the hell you are doing.
Once again Rick Beato blows us away with another amazing interview - this time with DOMi and JD Beck. Some of the quirkiest fusion I've ever heard. I loved their last album and now they have another coming in two days!

Are These Two The Future Of Music?
The entitlement of some recent #Linux adopters is really staggering. They still don't understand neither Linux nor "the community" owe them a damn thing.
With freedom comes responsibility.

So Hank Green has been outed for overusing AI in his work. Okay that sucks, whatever. He's taken responsibility for it and vowed to do better. I feel he's sincere in this. Unfortunately, now every useless youtuber is going to slag his name despite them never having made (or ever will make) any useful educational content, which Hank Green is known for. Tiresome.
I dislike the modern youtube practice of putting a clip of the most exciting part of the video at the front before the introduction. What's the point in watching the video then?

I'm really enjoying this series not because of familiar characters merely appearing for fan service, but they are there with a function that ties together the greater fabric uniting all of the star trek shows we love.
The greatest #TNG mystery - who stole worf's chair?
I just saw a youtube video float by about a couple that purchased a cabin on a cruise ship. To live. Permanently.
Um. that's all fun an games until ebola comes on board. If there's one thing I've learned about cruise ships in the last six years - they are excellent incubators for disease.
wow #Kurzgesagt made a new channel!
Seems to be about cool, overlooked stories from history. It brings with it their usual thorough research, excellent writing, charismatic voice-over work and a new and different art style from what we are used to from them that looks so lovely!
Best of all - no AI slop! despite them being recently erroneously flagged (and since exonerated).
Here's the story I caught tonight "The most powerful pirate in history". So cool!

@sandersch@mastodon.online I'm okay with that, but I'm not putting up with entitled spoiled brats who treat me like I'm customer service.
the Music App (formerly known as itunes when it actually worked) is truly a horrific piece of garbage. Anyone who's worked on this ought to feel ashamed, and carry the dishonour for three generations.
It was perfect for 25 years... then you broke what didn't need to be fixed. You suck, #Apple.
to anyone who uses iOS with a self-hosted calDAV/cardDAV server (like nextcloud) an important gotya:
You need to set your certificates' lifetimes to be <397 days, or apple shits the bed and refuses to admit it's signed. The reminders app just failed to work. No error, nothing. Took me two hours to find out why.
I thought I was being clever by setting long expiry times, since it's all just on my LAN anyway, and I hate messing with openssl.
can't breathe... laughing too hard... new #SNW so awesome

The first one was a good, cohesive story with a menacing villain, good pacing, mostly decent acting and script.
The second felt like a bit of a mess. The characters were just... there, but it seemed like no one had a real function. It lacked all of the good qualities of the first.

oh wow and Gary Graham is in it! I had thought he left the project. Also - he's dead, unfortunately. So perhaps won't be in the concluding episode.
Wow, what a cover! Milan's "The Watch" covers Supper's Ready by #Genesis

Another thing about #Axanar, in reading about the debacle that this production was, I came across two stances.
One was from JJ Abrams who chided Paramount saying this is not how to treat one's fan-base. He is entirely correct.
Another was from Wil Wheaton who of course supports fan products but was very clear in his condemnation of Axenar's production and financial mishandling, saying they exploited the fan base for money and were morally, ethically, and legally in the wrong, and that he doesn't want these people to be the poster child for challenging draconian IP laws and studios like Paramount. He is also entirely correct.
I hope the future for fan-made productions isn't in the toilet because Axanar chose to so mishandle things. I recently moaned about how watered down and awful Renegades: Requiem was, and I feel they were partially to blame.
Another absolute banger of an LP from Ibibio Sound Machine! Naturally grabbed it as soon it was released. Happy my local record store carried it, and got in the green smoke vinyl. Awesome.

When Count Binface tore up Newsnight
we need Captain Kirk more than ever - he always managed to get AIs to self-destruct by simply giving them over-dramatic pauses.
Pretty Cool! I mean separate applications exist for these features, and I love each of these, but having an all-in-one. I really enjoy Nicco's work in general (those that use Plasma for their desktop know why).
all I wanted to do is listen to one song I own on my iphone, but no Tim Cook has to be a piece of shit and deny me to listen to a song I OWN on a phone I OWN.
Fuck you, Tim Cook. I hope you die of extremely painful cancer, and your entire bloodline dies out becuase you're worthless.
Okay, how the fuck did I mangle youtube so much that the algo is showing me Circassian wedding dances?

No shade on Nic, it must be hard when your father is a living legend on your instrument and you're expected to play those same legendary songs.
Hope Nic has a bright career in his own right and makes his own waves.
