Tom

I love concert day. The anticipation of preparing to play is as enjoyable as playing and having played.

Today we're celebrating 10 years of the Mac Admins Podcast! We've done more than 450 shows, countless guests & topics, and a whole bunch more. Thank you so much to Marcus, Emily, Selina, James & Charles (😭) as well as Adam C, Aaron L, & everyone who's ever listened! https://podcast.macadmins.org/2026/03/23/episode-454-ten-year-podiversary/

This video goes out to @marcoarment@mastodon.social and @caseyliss@mastodon.social and all the rest of the UniFi-Switches-Are-Cool gang...

I'm a DC Resident, and today I paid a big check to the Feds for my taxes, like I do every year. Each of the last 16 years, I've not had anyone I can call who has my back on the Hill. DC's 700,000 residents are disenfranchised.

It sucks, and it's bullshit, but it's also fixable. Admit DC as a State. It's just that simple.

Mac Enterprise Report Card is Open for 2026!

Did my annual physical this week and my docs ran a standard blood panel. My tests are all "normal" or "good" results.

It feels like I got an A+ on blood tests.

Yes I am totally a normal human being and not at all type A.

@gruber@mastodon.social The APFS bell following @siracusa@mastodon.social to The Talk Show made me laugh aloud in my office this morning. Strong pull.

Anyone else having end of the world dreams lately? Just me?

@ebooksyearn@thepit.social I've used Thermacells a lot: https://www.thermacell.com

They're very good at Mosquitoes, but it's inadvisable to run them all the time because they'll do any flying insect like bees.

Really enjoying the Count of Monte Cristo on PBS. It's an all-timer of a revenge story that I'm definitely not thinking about for a lot of current cultural reasons.

It looks like there's maybe 500 people at Nats Park today for the last preseason tuneup. Utterly embarrassing.

@thomasareed@infosec.exchange yeah. Hard pass on that part of town. Congrats to your family on their new doctors!!

@thomasareed@infosec.exchange Get out of the Downtown Core if you can! Come up to Brookland (to the Monastery, or the Basilica!) or to Adams Morgan (and get out of the car and walk around).

@chrisatzinger@mastodon.social Not sure exactly how this rolls with Apple Business! Is there a Managed Apple Account signed into the Mac?

Is there an Apple Business policy for Activation Lock?

@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io LLMs aren't knowledge engines.

(Happy Opening Day, #Nats fans!)

Joey Wiemer? Who?! JOEY WIEMER.
