Interesting to think about all of the behaviors newbies (including myself) have to learn on here: posting for community not reach, self-promotion, or clout and becoming actively involved in starting and maintaining an instance, contributing to content moderation, and generally turning away from corporate platform expectations. There is no machine to feed in quite the same way
