I am super excited about my upcoming album: this will be released on Bandcamp tomorrow at 11:00 am. It is also Bandcamp Friday, so all revenue will go directly to the people.

I'm almost done reviewing applications for composition grants submitted to the Federal Ministry of Culture, Austria. So much wonderful music is being written, and there are so many interesting emerging or established artists, yet only a fraction of them receive the support their work deserves.
If you want to keep music alive, go to concerts and support the artists whose work you love.

@@nieuemma@mastodon.de The size of your music collection is beside the point. The issue is that artists who release a song on Spotify won't see any of the money you pay every month unless their song is streamed 1,000 times per year.

Free improvisation is using your attention on the present moment, without judging, overthinking, or overreacting. Without making up a story about what you’re experiencing.
Kind of like a mindfulness meditation.

Sylvie Courvoisier, Patricia Brennan, Thomas Morgan and Dan Weiss at Porgy and Bess. What a concert!
And a quite intense installation/exhibition, a memorial for those Roma and Sinti that were murdered.

@Chris 🦑 > FOSDEM Also a reminder: Spotify only pays for songs that have been streamed more than 1,000 times. Thus, 88% of the music on Spotify does not generate any revenue.

@evacide@hachyderm.io It is 2026 and sh*t like this still happens and people in power still respond as if abusive behavior was a given. wtf.
Watched #ESC last night out of professional interest… here is my rating:
Personal favorite: Poland for overall musicality, amazing dancing, stage presence and still keeping it simple
Most authentic lyrics and great energy as well as best use of the technical possibilities of the stage: Greece
General awesomeness: Bulgaria
Amazing singer and a moment of awe: France
Most fun on stage: Moldova
