Emily Dickinson Thus, from Darkness – vaster still – These twilights of the mind – When no moon makes itself known – No star – within – breaks through – The bravest – grope about a little – And sometimes bump into a tree Right in the forehead – but as They learn to see – Either the Darkness lightens – Or something in their vision Adapts to the midnight – And moves almost straight towards Life.
