hometown 4.6.8+hometown-1.3.0artist, educator, researcher on digital culture and politics. I wrote a PHD on the cultural form of the user in data-driven environments and the possibilities of critical art and cultural education. Fond of code and everything that does more than meet the eye, which is a nice way of saying culture.
I am the same person as shusha@tldr.nettime.org
also, I passed! Very proud, and very happy.
Huge thanks to my fantastic supervisors @festal@tldr.nettime.org and Nora Sternfeld, and Franz Wanner as a member of the jury.
I'll gonna celebrate some more now, and rest, and then I am open to new explorations of the digital contemporary. So if you know about positions (both research and teaching), I'd love to hear about it.
"But it works for me (how it is)" - if you are teaching, you probably know that kind of argument against critical perspectives on technology. It articulates a specific self-understanding as user and includes implicitely also a relation to technology.
I will be discussing the subject position of the user as a central element in critical pedagogy of the digital - and in aesthetic practice.
It's the defens of my thesis, and it's public! (also, it's in german). So, if you are in Hamburg or nearby - step by!
Wed. May 6, 2pm, HFBK Hamburg, kleiner Hörsaal, 2nd floor.
