I was wondering what the "gres" in "Postgres" could mean.
Wikipedia says: PostgreSQL started as “Post-Ingres”, after its predecessor, “Ingres”, short for “interactive graphics retrieval system”. So I guess it means that.
Also interesting: The original code, like that from other projects at Berkeley, was available at minimal cost under a permissive license. Ingres spawned a number of commercial database applications, including Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, NonStop SQL and a number of others.

I had my coprogrammer Klaus Kode make a plan for a feature and the plan included a timeline estimate!? With a total of 13-15 days!?!?
I have an opinion on AI. Or rather, on how y'all use it.
Chainsaws are such amazing tools. Have you ever seen someone fell a tree in seconds? Have you seen the competitions where they saw massive pieces of wood? Have you felt the power that comes with running one? They even have medical uses!
Yes, yes, sometimes a person will get their foot cut off, or their leg injured or their head or something, but we shouldn't regulate them in any way, just because they're so awesome.

I'm vibing some tool I want to have with my coprogrammer, Klaus Kode.
NOT A SINGLE TIME has any of the features I asked it to produce on the first try. I always have to try it out and tell it what to fix and do and improve.
How do you deal with that?
