@atomicpoet@mastodon.social There is really no viable reason Google does not have their own instance. It's simply them discouraging use of decentralized social networks because they cannot profit from them easily. They shut off G+ which could have been great. Now their model is ad revenues from search engines, data revenues from user data, and app revenues from the play store. They would have to compete with the FOSS apps.

@bruvik They reside in their sector of the Fediverse under a rock. It's best to keep pushing them there rather than try to find a way to code them out.

@atomicpoet@mastodon.social I saw the report of HP and Amazon layoffs. I havent seen a report of Google layoffs.

@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social net worth goes the other way too (poor)... socioeconomic status would have been a better word choice... @hankg (they accuse Twitter and others of muting moderate voices by algorithm I suppose... but yes a centralized platform run by a billionaire whose business model has always been use other people's money to build a product/service, over valuate and cash out, then sell to the highest bidder... we know where that story ends
