A nice beach sunset, shot on film. Downscaled to 6px x 4px to save space on the server.

@Casey I didn't realize that The Forkiverse was hosted in Portugal. Does that make me a Portuguese citizen now? Where do I order my passport? How soon can I move there?

@kevin@theforkiverse.com Looks like it's beyond 2k users now. Is that not actually a hard limit?

@pj@theforkiverse.com While listening to the Search Engine episode, I was on the back porch packing up Christmas lights.

I joined Mastodon in 2018, mostly ignored it, and then have lightly and intermittently used it since one of the early Twitter debacles. I have accounts on a lot of instances.
I reject the premise that each instance is its own social network with its own culture. When they're all connected together, with minimal friction for interacting with other instances, it makes it into one big social network, whether that's what people want or not. This isn't a value judgement — it's just my observation.
