I tested a 3D-printed satellite with space-grade filament in a vacuum chamber made from free parts!

Finally got around to snooping on satellite internet
My latest video had a lot of feedback. Not everyone liked it. I lost subscribers due to that video. But I also saw a lot of support and gained some Patreon supporters (THANK YOU!)
If you'd like to know more of my feelings on the situation in the US, I have a writeup on my blog (https://saveitforparts.com/2026/01/26/some-thoughts-as-a-minnesotan-american-and-human/)
I started noticing more of these Flock cameras around, so I decided to make a quick video about them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a14lplBg2Y
I recently participated in a live chat with some radio astronomy folks, including Marcus from the CCERA (the source of my geodesic radome!). Marcus gave a tour of their BIG radome and dish up in Canada, and described some fascinating science they're working on. It's a bit over my head at the moment, but I'm hoping to do more radio astronomy in the future. You can see the recorded stream here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DWwPrFETzc

@cdnspace Very cool, thanks! I really like your dashboard, it's super informative and really helped me out!
This isn't quite my usual content, but it might be the most American device I've ever found! https://youtu.be/C-nHKH6aEUM
This one was fun, now I have a satellite!
Might be my favorite thumbnail so far. https://youtu.be/59F86Ttw0ko
Last month we rented a boat in Alaska! It was a great time and I'll have a bunch of videos from the trip, here's a quick intro: https://youtu.be/oxIPfZFZ-uM
This was a fun "laptop" project! Now I need to figure out what to actually do with it. https://youtu.be/FrcNQx41PbM
We got to visit Tracy Arm about two weeks before it got a little... spicy. It's a beautiful spot and I'm glad we checked it out, but I'd definitely think twice about going ashore or using a tiny boat there!

@williamtries@floss.social thanks! I try to post on here but I'm not great at keeping on top of it. The cats always like to help with my projects :-)
Apparently there's a new shipper called "Gofo Express", which seems pretty useless. They send me suspicious texts about packages I don't remember ordering (which is usually a red flag, but I think at least one is legit). They won't tell me who it's from, and won't deliver to a PO Box or to the Post Office's physical address (which UPS and Fedex will). At my old job we actually did get one or two things from Gofo... The guy mowing the lawn would find them in the bushes a month after delivery.
